Blot or soak? Cold water or warm? Following are just a handful of answers to wet your appetite .
It wouldn’t be a feast without mashed potatoes. On their own, spuds are fairly harmless. However, when whipped with butter or margarine, they can certainly leave a mark on your favorite festive outfit.
For butter or margarine stains, try the following:
1. Using a plastic bucket, create a soak solution by adding ½ use (approx. 25 mls) Tide® per gallon of warm water. Allow the garment to soak for up to 30 minutes, weighting the item with a white towel to keep it totally submerged.
2. Wash in warmest water setting with 1 use of Tide. Also, try Tide® Bleach Alternative or Tide with the Action of Dawn StainScrubbers Powder™.
3. If stain remains, pretreat using Tide® Liquid (pour Tide on to cover stain and let set for 20 minutes). Then, rewash in warm water with 1 use of Tide before drying.
Nothing tops off turkey or pot roast like a generous helping of gravy. But it sure can make a lasting impression on your holiday duds.
For gravy stains, try the following:
1. Brush the excess stain off the surface of the fabric.
2. Rinse in cold water to dilute the stain.
3. Pretreat with Tide® Liquid. Pour Tide on to cover stain and let set for 20 minutes.
4. Wash in warm water with 1 use of Tide. Try Tide® with Bleach or Tide® with Bleach Alternative.
5. If stain remains, repeat steps before drying.
